Godolphin in Action: What a Truly Global Thoroughbred Operation Looks Like

Godolphin’s international reach was illustrated again on 22 August when Knightsbridge won the Grade 1 Pacific Classic at Del Mar in California.

For Thoroughbred.Global, the significance is bigger than one result. It provides a useful example of what a genuinely global Thoroughbred operation looks like in practice.

One operation, multiple racing markets

Knightsbridge is trained in the United States by Bill Mott, while Godolphin horses compete across major racing jurisdictions around the world. Godolphin’s published 2026 statistics following the weekend showed 274 wins, 57 Stakes wins and 14 Group/Grade 1 wins worldwide.

That international structure connects ownership, training, breeding, bloodstock expertise and racing programmes across borders.

Why this matters

Elite horses, pedigrees, stallions, mares, trainers, staff and investment move through an international ecosystem. Performance on a racecourse can influence future breeding decisions and bloodstock value thousands of miles away.

The Thoroughbred.Global view

Our interest is not simply who won a major race. It is understanding the structure behind the result.

That is the world Thoroughbred.Global exists to connect.
